"HIO" is the nickname of the small village that is home to this restaurant. In the five-course tasting menu proposed here, vegetables take centre stage. Much of the produce comes from the restaurant's own garden, which is right by the house, or from local farmers. The chic and modern interior incorporates a smattering of rustic touches, with the open kitchen being a focal point. With just 16 places, the restaurant has something akin to a family atmosphere, and the service is friendly, pleasingly laid-back and professional. Upon arrival, guests are taken outside to enjoy hors-d'oeuvres by the charcoal grill and hear about the sustainable philosophy in place here. In addition to HIO, HILZHOF also houses another restaurant – MEIER – plus a handful of guestrooms.

"HIO"는 이 식당이 있는 작은 마을의 애칭이다. 여기에서 제안하는 오코르스(5코스) 테이스팅 메뉴에서는 채소가 주인공이다. 대부분의 재료는 식당 바로 옆에 있는 자생 정원이나 지역 농부들로부터 온다. 세련되고 현대적인 실내는 소박한 요소들이 잘 어우러져 있으며, 오픈 주방이 눈길을 끈다. 단 16개의 자리로 운영되는 이 식당은 마치 가족 같은 분위기를 자아내며, 서비스는 친절하고 여유롭고 전문적이다. 손님들이 도착하면 밖으로 나가 숯불 그릴 옆에서 전채 요리를 즐기며 여기에 적용된 지속 가능한 철학에 대해 듣게 된다. HIO 외에도 HILZHOF는 또 다른 식당인 MEIER와 몇 개의 객실을 보유하고 있다.
